Description: Estate Find, RARE copper over silvertone metal bracelet by Coro Mexico, made between 1943 & 1950 when a shortage of metals to make jewelry in the U.S. during the WWII years caused Coro to contract with Taller Borda Silversmiths, owned by Hector Aguilar, to design and make Coro jewelry in silver and copper. Marked Coro Mexico as shown, this bracelet is not marked silverso I believe it is copper vermeil on a unidentified silvertone metal, The color is bright and shiny as shown and could be considered Rose Gold in color but it is not marked as such and it is untested, It is so shiny its very hard to photograph without reflections that are not actually on it. The bracelet is pre-owned and very cool with the design of linked copper domes, the condition is as shown, good, shiny, beautiful, it measure 7 inches long when open but when closed would fit a wrist closer to 6 or 6 1/2 inches as the clasp takes away 3/8 inch when closed, I have not made any attempt to clean or polish this, it is as found. Only damage I can see is a shallow round ding on one of the domes and tiny spots consistent with age and use which I see under 10x magnification, but not really noticeable otherwise. I believe this design to be rare, I could not find any other examples of this bracelet.If you collect rare jewelry pieces, rare Coro or 1940s Mexican jewelry, you might like this one.
