Special Notice: 4 Coast Guard cutters operating in ice jammed artic waters, have smashed 3 attempts by Germans to establish radio-weather outposts in Greenland, the US Navy reported. One German trawler was sunk, another captured, and a third found abandoned. A radio station was captured and destroyed and 60 POW taken in the series of actions which took place from last July to October. Here, after they had scuttled their armed trawler, Germans head for one of the 2 American vessels that trapped their ship in the ice, to surrender, during one of the actions.
