Description: 1969 FULL SET / FULLY SERVICED Rolex Daytona Ref 6239 -- Refinished Paul Newman Dial + Original "Big Daytona" Dial (Read Description for Details) History:For your consideration, one of the most coveted timepieces in all of watch collecting. Over the past two decades, vintage Rolex Daytonas have proven one of the best asset classes to invest in (of all asset classes). The lineage begins here, with the Rolex Reference 6239. The 6239 was the genesis of what became the modern chronograph layout, of which stemmed the Reference 6263, 6241, 6265, etc. It all began here, with the 6239. Condition:The timepiece before is in fantastic condition for its age. Starting on top, the watch comes with its original bezel and is also fitted with a cleaner/sharper aftermarket bezel. The case contours are in good condition, with no major dents, scratches, or dings anywhere on the case (a marvel, given these were a utility watch). The lugs present nice and thick, again an indication of minimal polishing / abuse. Adding to the wow factor of this watch, the timepiece comes fitted with a refinished, stepped Paul Newman (also called the "exotic") dial. "Stepped dial" meaning the outboard of the dial is stepped down from the rest of the dial, giving the dial beautiful layers and dimension. The beauty of this watch is that it also comes with its original Rolex factory service dial and hands. Per the photos, the OEM black Comsograph Daytona Dial has beautifully aged ivory-toned subdials; this dial on its own can run up to $10,000. Service History:The timepiece just finished a complete overhaul and runs beautifully. This watch will run flawlessly with no need for service for years to come.
