Fender American Standard Stratocaster 1983- 3 Tone Sunburst

Description: 1983 Fender American Standard Stratocaster - “Dan Smith” era Strat. This nice Strat is very close to “Excellent Condition”, with just a few minor bumps and small scratches on the body edges. Even a 41 year old guitar isn’t allowed to be graded on a curve. The Gorgeous Maple neck is virtually blemish-free - a stunning and fast playing “D” shape that was an innovation of the Dan Smith era. The Beautiful 3-Tone Sunburst is finished in the style the Fullerton Factory was using in the 1970’s, with bright, bold, distinct colors creating an impressive finish. This Strat has had 3 modifications in it’s lifetime. The middle and Bridge pickup cavities were professionally routed to create more space for pickup configurations. A jack route was also created at that time on the lower bouts edge, to allow for the more traditional V/T/T knob configuration, without blemishing the striking appearance of the guitar body. The third mod involved the removal of the original pickups/wiring harness and replacing it with Bare Knuckle Pickup’s “Trilogy Suite” S/S/S? configured set, new CTS pots, and a massive Bare Knuckle Branded Capacitor. These modifications indeed opened this guitar up for significant improvements. This Dan Smith Strat is a Powerhouse of Sound. This Strat weighs 7lbs, 10oz. Includes the Original Fender Hardshell case in excellent physical condition - No Cracks or damage to the interior or case shell. There is oxidation of the latching hardware, but it does not affect it’s performance. These rare beveled-style cases were only made from mid-year 1983 through 1984. I’m in the process of listing a fairly large collection of guitars, mostly Fender Models and Super Strats from the ‘80’s and ‘90’s , some of which I am actually interested in selling! (The Missus thinks that the house is a little too crowded with guitars……). I’ve only got adequate room to display about 20 guitars, so I am working to thin out a collection that spans 40 years.
