Description: Size: 2 1/4" x 3 1/8" - Five shims The auction is for 5 wafer thin alder neck shims, these are straight, flat, non-angled shims. For each single auction purchase the buyer will receive 5 neck shims. These are wafer thin alder neck shims, they are approx. 2 1/4" by 3 1/8" and about 1/40" - 1/42" thick. They are intended for a electric guitar neck pockets. They are very thin, rough cut (not square) and not perfect. All five layered together give a thickness of about 1/8". They will need to be trimmed and neck holes drilled to fit your project. If you need a thicker shim, they can be glued together, layered, graduated, and or sanded for your needs. For example; if you cut one in half, glue that half to a full size shim, sand the middle edge, you now have a graduated shim to adjust neck angle. However, these are not "ready to go, drop in" as with other "commercial" wood neck shims, but they are much less expensive. We find them very useful for custom neck projects and repairs.
