Master cylinder has smooth flat top with 9/16" and 1/2" ports on both sides.If your car or truck had a single bowl master cylinder this is a nice upgrade and much safer than the old single bowls often used. Some brake line work will be necessary. The combination valve will provide all the valving necessary in the system. Combination valves perform four functions...(1) Proportioning, (2) Metering, (3) Residual Pressure, and (4) System Failure Warning.Proportioning:As more force is applied to the brakes and the car begins to lean forward, less braking force is needed in the rear. This valve decreases the pressure to the rear, preventing lock up.System Failure Switch:This valve has a system failure switch that will alert you when half of your braking system is not working properly. This also includes the Bottom Bracket Mounting Kit, which allows you to mount the proportioning valve beneath the master cylinder. Additionally, this includes two hard lines that connect the master cylinder (with 1/2" & 9/16" ports) to the proportioning valve.Note: This kit is designed for converting vehicles with manual master cylinder brakes or hydro vac systems to a vacuum power assist brake booster setup. This is NOT a direct replacement if you already have a booster and power brakes. When making such conversions to power brakes; it is not uncommon for some modifications to be necessary in order to complete installation.
