c. 1955 Vintage Singer Sewhandy #20-10 with Box & Clamp #4 Version 7-Spoke Tan

Description: This is a Singer Model 20-10 a vintage hand crank sewing machine. It is a child-sized machine with a 7-spoke wheel (#4 version 20-10) with with an aluminum body with rectangular base, a full width stitch plate and an enclosed mechanism. Marked made in England. These machines were not meant to be toys, but to teach sewing to youngsters. Comes with table clamp and instructions Since this has bobbin action and tension, this is designed to do straight stitch (not chain stich done by earlier models). Hallmarks: Embossed gold-tone and blue enamel metal plaque with Singer Co. logo / emblem on base, and painted word "Singer" on both sides. Approximate age: 1955 Dimensions: Machine 7" wide x 6-5/8" tall x 3-5/8" deep (the diameter of the hand crank wheel). Work surface is 5.5" x 3". Rectangular base is 4.5" wide x 3.25" deep. Box measures 7.5" wide x 7" long x 4" high. Condition: Very good giftable condition. Hand crank turns freely, causing bobbin to turn and needle head to move up and down as they should. However, not tested with fabric. No observed missing parts. Tan paint and gold graphics in excellent shape. Box has black marker writing, edge wear, and splits (I would estimate graphics are 90% intact). Clamp and original literature present. Unpacked weight: 2 lbs. 8 oz.
