Description: Antique Childs rocking Chair. Likely made from mahogany with pressed back and caned seat. Along the top is an ornate shell design. Six carved spindles connect the middle of the back to the back of the seat and the chair is completed with 2 posts at the sides that connect the arms to the seat bottom. There is a chip in the wood of the left arm, see photos. The seat is caned and all caning is intact. With perfectly curved gliders this chair easily rocks back and forth. Very well crafted. Belonged to our Great Grandmother who used it as a child in the 1800s and has been in the family since. This neat little chair would be a great addition to any children's furniture collection. Great for portrait photography! No breaks or cracks in the rest of the chair, caning is free of damage. Wear consistent with age and use, overall in very good condition. Measures 28 1/2" tall, 17" wide and 23" long, front to back, incl rockers. Local Pickup Only!
