Description: This Hamilton Model 22 Deck Watch Chronometer is a vintage original that was made in the United States circa 1941. It comes with two original boxes that fit inside each other. The watch has a manual winding and an open face, with 21 jewels and a size of 36. It is a deck watch chronometer, perfect for maritime enthusiasts and collectors. The watch features wood, glass, and metal materials and it was specifically designed for the US Navy. It is a unique piece of history from the World War II era, with the maker being Hamilton. This deck watch chronometer is a must-have for those who appreciate antiques and maritime history. Very rare find. This Hamilton model 22 is an excellent timekeeper. It was designed to run for approximately 60 hours on a single winding. It is intended, however, to be wound at the same time every day. The outer bigger box shows mild signs of use commensurate with having been used in the U.S. Navy for perhaps over 50 years. There is a Hamilton Watch Co., Lancaster, PA, U.S.A. nameplate on the front of the box. The unit appears to have been well cared for during its life aboard ship and while stored on shore. An outstanding historical nautical timepiece that would look as great on a Yacht as in a study or on a living room table! A lovely example of a WWII era chronometer deck watch.
