The spare bulb is not in the butt end of the light but foam is there and the inside of the light appears that no batteries have corroded inside of it. My shipping prices are based off of what I have learned over the years that items cost to ship and most times I lose a little on shipping. There is no such thing as free shipping, shipping will either be paid by the buyer or the seller will take that much of a loss on the item to ship it.
