Description: "Jesus plus nothing equals salvation." You are about to purchase a CD disk containing the 1644 Edition of Martin Luther's Commentary on Galatians, in PDF file format. This fully searchable facsimile copy contains nearly 600 pages and is a great electronic resource tool for studying this book in the original King James English it was translated in! Yes, even though it's a facsimile (scanned) copy, the text is copy-pastable...but be aware that word spelling and characters were much different in 1644. Shipping is FREE to the U.S.A! Not sure what an "Ebook" is? See a thorough description at the end of this page. Martin Luther (1483-1546 AD) was once a Roman Catholic monk and studied the Word of God diligently in the monastery. His studies convinced him that many practices of the Roman Catholic Church were indeed unbiblical, leading him to post his "95 theses", statements he wanted to debate within the context of the Catholic Church in order to restore it to truth. The Catholic Church didn't listen, and Martin Luther was excommunicated and became the first "Lutheran." Remarkably, Martin Luther's "Commentary on Galatians" remains, after almost 500 years, one of the premier proponents for the decidedly anti-Catholic doctrine of justification by faith in Christ alone. Galatians was Luther's favorite book, and it was crucial to his understanding of the gospel. Luther was convinced that: 1. God justifies a person (declares him "not guilty" and acquits him) by faith in Jesus Christ alone and not by works 2. That every believer has direct access to God apart from any human intervention 3. The Bible is the only source of true authority on matters of faith and life. Luther's Commentary on Galatians is truly one of the best ways to get a broad yet concise understanding of the doctrine of justification by faith alone (sola fide). Martin Luther explains the Book of Galatians with a boldness of insight and power of spirit that simply cannot be found in today's "commentary-ettes". Luther is not at all concerned with the "politically incorrect" discussions of 'difficult' passages, nor does he employ the use of "scriptural gymnastics" to twist the words into something they do not mean. From the very first page Luther cuts to the chase in dealing with the teachings of Paul's Epistle, and his bold words and plain-sense explanations result in a work filled with much of the same force and spiritual passion that defined Galatians itself. If you are looking for a modern, critical commentary or greek-based exegesis then you will be sorely disappointed...however if you are seeking a bold, truthful explanation that doesn't pull any punches, you will be richly rewarded. The term 'eBook' simply means "electronic book", meant for viewing on your computer or other device. Ebooks usually come in Adobe PDF format, as the one being offered in this auction. All that is required to read the Ebook is a software program called Adobe Acrobat Reader, which will open PDF files. Most computers already have the Adobe Acrobat reader software already installed, but in the rare instance your computer may not have it, you can download the latest version for FREE at www.adobe.com. For viewing on a mobile device such as Kindle, iPhone, Droid, etc. you must have an 'app' installed which allows reading of PDF files. With an Ebook, you can read books on your computer screen and zoom in on the text to make the words as big as you would like them to be to read comfortably! You can also go to any page or chapter in the book with just a few mouse clicks, even if the book has thousands of pages! You can also print out any or all pages you like at your convenience. With some Ebooks, you even have the capability to copy and paste the text of the book into another computer file, instead of retyping by hand. These are just a few of the features and conveniences of having a book in electronic format. Having this book on a CD is a dream come true. A wonderful feature of this CD is the ability to "copy and paste" any of the text from its nearly 600 pages into any other computer application/program. Try doing that with a printed book! Everything on this disk is fully searchable. And with so many pages and chapters to study, having built-in Bookmarks is definitely a time saver! Do you like audio books? Another time-saving feature not talked about very often is the "Read Aloud" function of Adobe Acrobat Reader. This feature will allow your computer to read the text of the book to you, whether it be one page or the entire book! (Don't be fooled by others on eBay who try to pass off their eBooks as the only ones with this feature, as it will work with nearly any PDF in Adobe Acrobat) Don't pass up this opportunity to obtain a copy of this AWESOME Bible reference CD! As stated above, original hard copy editions of these works have sold on eBay for hundreds of dollars. With this CD you can read the same pages on your computer, or print out any pages you like at your convenience. All files are in PDF format and are bookmarked for easy navigation. Don't forget, shipping is FREE! ...Due to recent changes in eBay policy, shipping prices have gone up considerably for these items.
