Description: Past Patterns PP#4877Mid 1910s Ladies Waist with Two Styles of Collar Sewing Pattern This Mid 1910s Ladies Waist with Two Styles of Collar was originally published McCalls ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ On the original packaging this garment was described as a "Ladies' and Misses' Dress Coat with button closure. Asymmetrical collar with open flap on left side. Off-set center line for closure. Button closure on belt." The front of the original pattern’s envelope was missing so we co-opted another McCall’s package to build this pattern set. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This pattern set was designed to fit the size and shape of a mid-1910s woman with 38” bust. This is the only size offered with this package. For resizing information, see https://pastpatterns.com/resizing-vintage-patterns/ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ladies Waists from the mid 1910s similar to this were made of a variety of fabrics including Crepe de Chine, voile, China silk, jersey and sheer fabrics. The common colors for garments like this were white, paisley, black, blue, flesh, navy blue, and rose. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This Edwardian package includes a copy of the McCall’s artwork of the era on the front cover. Inside the booklet are copies of the written instruction from McCall and historical notes on the paper pattern industry from the era (which are continued on the back cover of the booklet). We grade this set of instructions as MINIMAL at best. We also include the Past Patterns Guide to Editing and Modifying patterns due to bust size. The patterns come on 1 36” wide sheet and are hand-drawn, emulating the originals. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our patterns are printed on 20 lb. white paper and packaged in reusable plastic. We always attempt to offer the most reasonable shipping rates for domestic and international orders. Multi item purchases are automatically adjusted for combined shipping. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Past Patterns 2023. All rights reserved. We do this with the hope that people will start creating and wearing reproductions instead of antique originals. The clothes we wear and that our grandparents wore are part of our cultural history. Just as you would not abuse antiques furniture by cutting off decorative trim, so you should not abuse antique garments by wearing them. Our second goal is that you pick up a little bit of history when you sew the garment. The fit, the cut, the fasteners, the fabric design, just to mention a few things, are part to the technology of the time. Our third goal, in sewing the patterns, is to spark an interest in genealogy and local history. Researching local history is always a rewarding pursuit. SKU 4877 Thanks for looking!
