Description: Vintage 1930s prewar nautical signal flag bracelet that spells out "Der Deutsche". Each flag represents a letter and these types of bracelets with "hidden" messages were popular. It is in good condition and is unmarked. See photos for size and condition. Built in 1924, Der Deustche was originally called Sierra Morena and was owned by Norddeutscher Lloyd. In July 1934, it was charted to the DAF (Deutsche Arbeitsfront) for KdF (Kraft durch Freude) cruises and renamed Der Deutsche. It was made into a one-class ship and had various cruises around Lisbon and Madeira, Italy and Fjord trips to Norway. In March 1939, Der Deutsche was used to transport the Condor Legion back. That fall, it was deployed into naval service and was used to resettle Baltic Germans to the Reich. During WWII, it served as a transport and live-in ship in Danzig for submarine crews. It was used as a causality (and refugee) transporter in the Baltic Sea at the end of the war. I DO COMBINE SHIPPING! I tried to have it set up to automatically combine shipping costs, but that doesn't always work. If you feel it is not correctly combining shipping, please write in the order notes "combine shipping" or something of that nature when you order (not as a separate message). The note in the order flags it for me so it is easier for me to keep track and refund accordingly. I know there should be a simpler way of doing this, but I haven't figured it out, so this is my best option at the moment. INTERNATIONAL BUYERS: I must declare FULL VALUE on customs forms. This means you may have to pay customs fees upon arrival. Listing and template services provided by inkFrog
