Description: Original fabric from the Goodyear Blimp. Came out of Akron Air Dock in the late 70's and was being used as tarps. The envelope was cut up for tarps because Goodyear was did not want to sell intact in case some one wanted to make a flying blimp. They did not want the liability. Was told that when they tried to add the lights they had to create a new envelope because they were having issues with light staying attached to the previously painted envelope. Photo is of the Mayflower showing the yellow drop shadow on the lettering. This material came from the “Mayflower” (N1A) launched in 1968 and retired in 1976.Size is 3"x3". NOTE: Samples have the painted silver on front surface. There are no other colors or samples from the "Goodyear" painted lettering available. Some samples may have seems or no paint at all.
