Description: For sale is one Sterling Silver 925 1000 Arts & Crafts Handmade Hammered Pointed End Ladle with Engraved Wreath & Shield. Ladle is used but in very good condition but does show wear commensurate with age and use, please see photos. Handle does have a few scratches at the tip, please see photos. Ladle has no monograms or inscriptions. Ladle measures ~ 5 1/2" and weighs ~ 39.1 grams. Ladle is marked with the maker mark of 925 1000 but also bears the additional mark the retailer of Marcus & Co. I haven't been able to find out who the 925 1000 hallmark belongs to but it is thought to be the mark of the Marshall Fields & Co. silver smith school. I have collected a lot of items with this mark and they do seem to be made by people with extremely varying levels of skill. Quite a few also have hand scratched/engraved marks that seem like something would be done inside a workshop with many people. Please see Photos and message me with any questions.
