Description: Vintage Steuben Glass Excalibur letter opener. This antique belonged to a family member and sat on the desk of their home office for years. It is a beautiful, fun, practical, conversation piece for any office. Makes a wonderful luxury gift for an office, retirement, or boss. According to elsewhere on the internet, this piece was "designed by legendary Steuben artist James Houston in 1963". The crystal paperweight represents the stone that King Arthur pulled his sword from in legend. The letter opener is the sword and is made of sterling silver with the handle wrapped in 18 karat gold. Sword has been cleaned. "Steuben" is etched into the bottom of the stone. There is a piece of glass chipped just above where the sword goes into the "stone". It is visible in the pictures. It is not very noticeable in real life and almost looks like it is supposed to be there, if you didn't know any better. I have a video of the items, but eBay wouldn't let me upload it. If you would like to see the video, send me a message and I can send you a Google Photos link to see the video. This piece is sold AS IS. I put forth a good faith effort best to capture the item in the pictures from several angles and inspect it for damages. I am not an expert, but other than that one chip, it looks to me to be in great condition. I can take additional photos if there is anything in particular you want to see.
