The Voices of the Dunes and Other Etchings

Description: The Voices of the Dunes and Other Etchings by Earl H. Reed, Alderbrink Press (1912). Reed (1863-1931) was an artist and author whose inspiration was the dunes on the southern and eastern shore of Lake Michigan. "Voices of the Dunes" is the first of three books of etchings that focused on that particular landscape. This 112-year old oversized book is in very delicate condition. The heavy cardboard cover is significantly stained and mottled, and the covering of the spine is gone. Edges are worn and deteriorated. The hinges and binding are intact, but some of the interior pages have detached. (see pictures.) There are two kinds of interior pages: Poetry on the left is printed on lightweight paper and the etchings on the right are on heavier stock. All are included and though aged, both the printing and artwork are clean and undamaged. This is a significant addition to any collection of etchings or nature art.
