Description: Just when I thought I had reached the end of Dad's mineral collection I found another box. This box had minerals yet to be added to his collection so they don't have all the scientific information he put on his little cards. Some of the items in the box were once mounted in styrofoam but had come off. Some of the minerals were just in little bags with brief bits of information with them and there were several that had no information with them at all. I don't know when or where he got these minerals. I do know that sometimes friends who knew he collected minerals would give them their collections due to downsizing their living situations, or they may have given him the collections of a loved one who had died, or Dad may have purchased their collections to add to his own. I have no records with any of the history for these mineral specimens beyond what is recorded below. This unknown mineral specimen with orange crystals is roughly about 20 mm by 15 mm by 9 mm and weighs about 1.678 grams. With his PhD in mineralogy, my father loved to collect rocks. He took great pride in his mineral collection which he carefully organized by chemical groups. Since he recently passed away I'm tasked with finding his treasures a new home. Just so you know, I do send all the tags that he had with each mineral because they tell a story of the travels of the specimen. If they were with Dad's specimen I included them but you may have to look at the very bottom of the box to find them. I have added one of Dad's identification tags with what little information I have on the specimen in case you want to continue to seek out the scientific data and add it to the tag. I still have loads of rocks and rough material to re-home so I'll be posting more of my father's rock collections (rough material, cut stones, pendants, mineral specimens, and other rock related items) off and on for months so do make my store one of your favorites and check in often to see what new items are listed. I try to list new items for auction every Tuesday. I will gladly combine shipping for purchases made on the same day. If you win more than one auction please request an invoice so I can adjust the shipping costs before you pay, although I've tried to set it up so the weights of the items will determine the final cost of postage. Due to paperwork issues on my end I cannot hold items for you to have me ship later, so try to buy what you want on the same day - that way I can get you the best shipping costs possible. Thanks!
