Description: Very well listed artist from the 1960s Martin Silverman - famous for his sculptures but did a lot of wood blocks as well - This block is in near mint condition number 6/50 The outside frame measures are approx. 13-1/2" X 15-1/2 inches the inside mat measures are approx. 8-3/8" X 10-1/2 inches What's wrong with it? Martin Silverman is a native New Yorker. He attended the High School of Music & Art, was awarded a scholarship to the Philadelphia College of Art and received a B.F.A. from that institution. He continued his printmaking studies at the Pratt Graphics Arts Center in Manhattan. Martin Silverman's work is represented in the permanent collections of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, the Hudson River Museum, the New York Public Library Print Collection, Nassau Community College (Purchase Award) as well as several corporate collections, among them IBM. As printmaker, illustrator and book designer, Martin Silverman has been commissioned to do fine print editions for Associated American Artists, Inc., Editions 260 of the Book-of-the-Month Club, and The Original Print Collectors Group. His design for "Selected Poems, Chaim Nachman Bialik" (UAHC), was selected by the American Institute of Graphic Arts as one of the 50 best books of the year.
