Description: Vintage NYLINT Familian NW GMC Tractor Trailer/Semi 18-Wheeler, Pressed Steel, 21"L This hardy, pressed-steel toy is 21" long when hitched, 5" wide, and 6.75" high. It weighs nearly 4.5 pounds. 1:8 Scale. Shown with a 12 oz soda can for relative size. Nylint produced many corporate-logo trucks sporting GMC tractors. I don't know the actual date of manufacture on this one, but based on other toys in my dad's collection, I'm guessing it is from the 1980s or 1990s. This particular model is hard to find these days, no doubt because it features a regional company and may not have been produced in large quantities or sold outside the Pacific Northwest. Familian NW remains in business today. As indicated in the photos, this toy has display quality, given that it makes a great first impression from a distance. Up close, one can see the expected scars of play and some exposure to the elements. Please view all photos and read the following description in its entirety. The tractor and the trailer are made of steel and both have a metal undercarriage. The tires and mock rims, horns, exhaust pipe, fuel tanks, bumper/grille, and trailer door are plastic. Best features: Straight and solid body with no exaggerated dents, logos intact, windows that have no cracks, a manual trailer jack that allows it to stand on its own when unhitched, and a trailer that sports a clean interior and a roll-up door that still slides up and down. Worst features: Rusted tractor bed, crack in front bumper (passenger side), tire tread that shows wear, and missing paint along most edges. But, hey, we can't fault the original owner for actually playing with this toy. It would appear they got a lot of mileage out of it. I didn't get up-close photos of all quadrants, but those shown in the gallery are representative of the rig as a whole. They capture the respectable dings and soiling found on this vintage toy.
